The Faculty and Academic Staff of Sohail University, Jinnah Medical & Dental College, Jinnah College of Rehabilitation Sciences, Jinnah College of Nursing, Department of Biomedical and Biological Sciences, Department of Social Sciences, IHSR, Department of Medical Education, Department of Examinations, Jinnah School of Business Commerce and Economics, Jinnah College of Pharmacy, Department of Quality Enhancement Cell and Library will observe holiday on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 on account of the Shahadat of Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Shaheed.

However. the following Departments will remain operational:

World Leprosy Day

Sohail University marks World Leprosy Day to raise public awareness of Leprosy or Hansen's Disease. Leprosy was renamed Hansen’s disease after Norwegian scientist Gerhard Henrik Armauer Hansen, who in 1873 discovered the slow-growing bacterium now known as Mycobacterium leprae as the cause of the illness. Together, we can put a stop to prejudice and disgrace against people with Hansen’s disease that can be restored with antibiotics.

Kashmir Day

Sohail University is observing Kashmir Solidarity Day with a strong intellectual heartbeat, unequivocal support to the inhabitants of Kashmir. The day is marked all over Pakistan on February 5th every year showing support and unity with the people of Indian-occupied Kashmir.

Awareness Session on Covid-19 (Corona Virus)

The common flu kills 60 times more people annually than Coronavirus, only 2% of cases have reported deaths was said by Dr. Rizwan Ali in a workshop on Coronavirus (Covid-19) which was held on 11th March 2020. Professor, Dr. Ajeet Kumar & Dr. Rizwan Qurban Ali Khawaja, Department of Medicine, were the speaker of the event who provided valuable information on COVID-19. Large number of Doctors, Medical students, Nursing Department and Medicare staff attended the workshop. While receiving Q&A’s from audience about precautionary measures, Dr. Ajeet said, people should wash hand with soap for at least 20 seconds and sneezing into flexed elbow is the best practice. Furthermore he added that only 2% of cases have reported death and most of these deaths were associated with weaker immune system. 11-March-2020
