Jinnah Medical & Dental College (JMDC) congratulates the MBBS Batch 19 students for the selection of their Research Paper in the areas of Biomedical Sciences & Technology at the ICBMT (International Conference for Bone Marrow Transplant) 2020.The topic of this year’s presentation was “Prevalence of Depression, Anxiety, and Psychosocial support among transfusion-dependent thalassemia major patients”.
Department of Medical Education, Jinnah Medical and Dental College (JMDC) organized a one-day workshop with the title “TOS and Assessment Planning” for faculty members at Zaki Hasan Auditorium on 20th November. Dr. Sadaf Fatima was the facilitator of the workshop.
Workshop on “Objective Structural Practical Examination (OSPE) & The Objective Structural Clinical Examination (OSCE) Development”
The department of Medical Education organized a one-day workshop titled “Objective Structural Practical Examination (OSPE) & The Objective Structural Clinical Examination (OSCE) Development” for faculty members here in Zaki Hasan Auditorium. Dr. Junaid Lakhani was the facilitator of the event. The workshop held at 5th December 2020
Jinnah Medical and Dental College organizes workshops for faculty development on a regular basis with the aim of improving the teaching and learning process; and assessment of learning. Keeping in account, the needs of the millennial students, a workshop was arranged for the faculty members from all disciplines of JMDC and SU. The workshop titled “Lesson Planning” was facilitated by Professor Marium Iqbal, trained in medical education from Aga Khan University. The 3 hour- workshop continued for 5 consecutive days, engaging different participants each day. With the goal of developing a structured lesson plan, that would ensure coverage of content, the facilitator introduced innovative and interesting strategies that would keep the learners engaged throughout the lecture. At the end of the session, the faculty members shared their lesson plans incorporating creativity for their learners. The workshop was highly appreciated by the faculty for its high level of interaction, innovative solutions, and hands-on planning of lectures.
The common flu kills 60 times more people annually than Coronavirus, only 2% of cases have reported deaths was said by Dr. Rizwan Ali in a workshop on Coronavirus (Covid-19) which was held on 11th March 2020. Professor, Dr. Ajeet Kumar & Dr. Rizwan Qurban Ali Khawaja, Department of Medicine, were the speaker of the event who provided valuable information on COVID-19. Large number of Doctors, Medical students, Nursing Department and Medicare staff attended the workshop. While receiving Q&A’s from audience about precautionary measures, Dr. Ajeet said, people should wash hand with soap for at least 20 seconds and sneezing into flexed elbow is the best practice. Furthermore he added that only 2% of cases have reported death and most of these deaths were associated with weaker immune system. 11-March-2020
