Holiday Notice For (Tuesday , April 04th , 2023)

The Faculty and Staff of Sohail University, Jinnah Medical & Dental College (Basic Sciences Departments onlv), Jinnah College of Physical Therapy, Jinnah College of Rehabilitation Sciences, Jinnah College of Nursing, Department of Biomedical and Biological Sciences, Department of Social Sciences, IHSR, Department of Examination, Department of Human Resource, School of Computing & Information Sciences, Faculty of Management Sciences, Department of Medical Education, Jinnah College of Pharmacy, Department of Quality Enhancement Cell, Sports Department and Library will observe holiday on Tuesday, April 4th 2023 on account of death anniversary of former Prime Minister Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto. • However, Korangi campus will remain open and Faculty/Staff will observe their normal schedule. • First and Fourth year MBBS exams will take place as per schedule. • Faculty/Transport on exam duty will be required to be present.

Workshop on Neonatal Resuscitation

Jinnah Medical & Dental College organized workshop on 10th March 2020 on Neonatal Resuscitation. More than 30 participants including doctors & staff were participated in the event. JMDC, Head of Pediatric Department, Professor S.M Inkisar Ali while emphasized the importance of event said that timely and effective neonatal resuscitation cannot be over emphasized. Globally, around 4 million neonatal deaths occur every year, out of these more than a million new born die on their first day of life. Furthermore, 93% of deaths occur in low and middle income countries including Pakistan. About 25% of all neonatal deaths are caused by birth asphyxia, he added. He also emphasized that birth asphyxia can be effectively treated to a very large extent with timely resuscitation of new born and failure to do so will result in mortality and long-term neuro developmental disability. Professor Inkisar praised Services of Senior Pediatrician Dr. Habiba Hassan. Dr. Habiba thanked J.M.C.H and presented review on the subject. At the end of event, Q&A’s session was conducted and certificates were distributed among participants and facilitators. 10-March-2020
